Regular Season Round 22: Gussing - Zepter Vienna 79-76

A Bundesliga round 22 caused change at the leadership position. Fifth defeat of league's leader Zepter Vienna (15-5) against second ranked Gussing Knights (16-4) 79-76 was the most important game of the last round. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 24-20. But Zepter Vienna won second period 21-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Zepter Vienna 33-22 including 21 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Travis Taylor (203-90, college: Xavier) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. The other American import guard Anthony Shavies (191-83, college: Missouri St., agency: Interperformances) contributed with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Serbian Predrag Miletic (193-84) replied with 21 points and international swingman Florian Trmal (193-89) added 17 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Zepter Vienna. Four Zepter Vienna players scored in double figures. Gussing Knights have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Defending champion Zepter Vienna dropped to the second place with five games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Gussing.
