Round 13 in A1 means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Zabok where host KK Zabok (9-4) crushed league's leader Kvarner (8-5) 79-60 on Saturday evening. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by KK Zabok. Kvarner managed to win fourth quarter 22-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. KK Zabok dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Kvarner's 22 and made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. Karlo Lebo (193-94, agency: XL Basketball Agency) fired 21 points for the winners. Forward Petar Maric (196-87, college: Lincoln Trail CC, agency: XL Basketball Agency) chipped in 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Five KK Zabok players scored in double figures. Guard Dino Stipcic (195-89) produced 13 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Jure Skific (202-88) added 10 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. KK Zabok keeps a position of league leader, which they share with GKK Sibenik and KK Zagreb. Kvarner at the other side dropped to the fourth place with five games lost. They share the position with Jolly and Alkar Sinj. They were replaced at the leadership position by Zabok. Kvarner will play next round against strong Alkar Sinj trying to make it back to the top of the standings. KK Zabok will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked KK Zagreb on the road.
