Regular Season Round 7: Jekabpils - Tln Kalev 88-67

Not a big story in a game when 7th ranked Estonian Tln Kalev (3-9) was rolled over on the road by third ranked Latvian Jekabpils (7-5) 88-67 on Saturday. The game without a history. Jekabpils led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Jekabpils outrebounded Tln Kalev 33-21 including 21 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for American forward Troy Barnies (200-89, college: Maine) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Power forward Pavels Veselovs (206-83, agency: Players Group) helped adding 18 points. At the losing side point guard Reimo Tamm (188-84) responded with 17 points and forward Kaido Saks (207-86) scored 17 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Jekabpils maintains third place in Group A with 7-5 record having just three points less than leader Pyrinto. Loser Tln Kalev stay at the bottom position with nine games lost.
