We should mention about the upset which took place in Ovarense, where higher ranked Barcelos (7-7) were outleveled in a road game by ninth ranked Ovarense (6-8) 86-58. The game without a history. Ovarense led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Ovarense outrebounded Barcelos 44-25 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for the former international forward Miguel Miranda (205-78, agency: Dynamics Global Management) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international Fernando Neves (194-80) accounted for 23 points for the winning side. Four Ovarense players scored in double figures. Ovarense's coach Carlos Pinto felt very confident that he used entire bench saving starting five for next games. Serbian power forward Nikola Tadic (206-88, agency: Dynamics Global Management) came up with 8 points and 8 rebounds and guard Rui Coelho (191-89) added 14 points respectively for Barcelos in the defeat. Ovarense moved-up to eighth place. Barcelos at the other side keep the fifth position with seven games lost. Ovarense's next round opponent will be Lusitania (#9) in Angra. Barcelos will play on the road against CAB Madeira (#3) in Funchal and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
