There was an upset when much higher ranked Hamamatsu Phoenix (21-12) was crushed on the road by seventh ranked Takamatsu FA (14-19) 75-54 on Saturday. The game without a history. Takamatsu FA led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Hamamatsu Phoenix to just 7 points in fourth quarter. They outrebounded Hamamatsu Phoenix 45-31 including a 35-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Takamatsu FA looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Hamamatsu Phoenix's players. The game was dominated by American players. Power forward Paul Williams (208-83, college: St.Bonaventure, agency: I.D.S. Law) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Dexter Lyons (198-81, college: Cent.Florida, agency: I.D.S. Law) chipped in 12 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Takamatsu FA players scored in double figures. Forward Dior Lowhorn (201-87, college: USF) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and guard Jermaine Dixon (191-87, college: Pittsburgh) added 20 points and 5 steals respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Takamatsu FA moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Fukuoka Rizing. Loser Hamamatsu Phoenix keeps the second position with 12 games lost. Takamatsu FA will face again league's second-placed Hamamatsu Phoenix in Mikawa in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
