Guangdong Tigers spurred ahead for 2-0 lead in the quarterfinal series against Shanghai. The game without a history. Guandong Tigers led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 27-of-33 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. American Josh Powell (206-83, college: N.Carolina St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. International Jianlian Yi (212-87) contributed with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Guandong Tigers' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American Darnell Jackson (203-85, college: Kansas) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Quincy Douby (190-84, college: Rutgers) added 25 points and 4 assists in the effort for Shanghai Sharks. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
