Regular Season Round 32: Mitsubishi DD - Toshiba BT 77-85

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Nagoya. First ranked Toshiba Thunders faced 3rd ranked Mitsubishi Dolphins. Guests from Kanagawa (30-5) defeated host Mitsubishi Dolphins (19-17) 85-77. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Mitsubishi Dolphins. It looked good early as Mitsubishi Dolphins took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Toshiba Thunders had a 30-12 second period charge getting the lead and Mitsubishi Dolphins were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 77-85. Toshiba Thunders had a 32-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). The other American import guard Cedric Bozeman (198-83, college: UCLA) contributed with 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Senegalese-French forward Amath M'Baye (206-89, college: Oklahoma) replied with 30 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) and the former international forward Shogo Asayama (192-81) added 17 points in the effort for Mitsubishi Dolphins. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Toshiba Thunders have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 30-5 record. Mitsubishi Dolphins at the other side keep the third place with 17 games lost. Toshiba Thunders will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Mitsubishi Dolphins will play again at home against the league's leader Toshiba Thunders and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
