Regular Season Round 34: Rieker KN - Nitra 74-70

The most important game in the last round took place in Komarno between third ranked Nitra (20-10) and fifth ranked Rieker KN (17-13) on Saturday night. Nitra was defeated by Rieker KN in a tough game on the road 70-74. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Nitra won fourth quarter 25-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Rieker KN made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. Rieker KN outrebounded Nitra 34-23 including 28 on the defensive glass. 25 personal fouls committed by Nitra helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Four Nitra players scored in double figures. Rieker KN maintains fifth position with 17-13 record. Nitra lost third consecutive game. They keep the third place with ten games lost. Rieker KN are looking forward to face Handlova (#6) on the road in the next round. Nitra will play against the league's second-placed Prievidza and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
