Regular Season Round 23: Tezenis VE - CZG Veroli 83-71

Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked Tezenis VE (14-9) defeated 8th ranked CZG Veroli (12-11) in Verona 83-71 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Tezenis VE. CZG Veroli managed to win fourth quarter 20-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded CZG Veroli 39-19 including a 26-11 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Tezenis VE especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. American players dominated the game. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Jerry Smith (188-87, college: Louisville) who led the winners and scored 24 points and 5 rebounds. Quincy Taylor (196-82, college: UAB) accounted for 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. Guard Jamarr Sanders (193-88, college: UAB, agency: Two Points) came up with 21 points and forward Jamar Samuels (200-89, college: Kansas St.) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively for CZG Veroli in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tezenis VE have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Sigma BRC and Angelico BI. CZG Veroli lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with 11 games lost. They share it with Lighthouse TR and C.de Latte BRE. Tezenis VE will meet bottom-ranked Aget Service IM (#16) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. CZG Veroli will play against Forli (#15) and hope to secure a win.
