Regular Season Round 25: Yamanashi QB - JX Sunflowers 32-86

WJBL top team - JX Sunflowers (23-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed twelfth ranked Yamanashi QB (1-24) 86-32. The game without a history. JX Sunflowers led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Yamanashi QB to just 4 points in first quarter. JX Sunflowers held Yamanashi QB to an opponent 23.1 percent shooting from the field compared to 53.5 percent accuracy of the winners. JX Sunflowers forced 21 Yamanashi QB turnovers and outrebounded them 51-21 including a 35-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. JX Sunflowers players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Yamanashi QB's players. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Yunika Nakamura (177-95) stepped up and scored 16 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and the former international forward Yuka Mamiya (185-90) chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds. JX Sunflowers' coach Kiyomi Sato felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for JX Sunflowers. Defending champion maintains first place with 23-2 record. Yamanashi QB lost their twelfth game in a row. They stay dead last with 24 lost games. JX Sunflowers will play against Chanson V-M (#3) in Shizuoka in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Yamanashi QB will have a break next round.
