We should mention about the upset which took place in Bremerhaven, where higher ranked Phoenix Hagen (11-12) was outleveled in a road game by thirteenth ranked Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (9-14) 86-64. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Phoenix Hagen. The game was mostly controlled by Eisbaeren Bremerhaven. Phoenix Hagen was better in fourth quarter 27-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Phoenix Hagen 46-29 including a 32-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for Lithuanian Adas Juskevicius (194-89) who led the winners and scored 19 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven maintains thirteenth place with 9-14 record. Phoenix Hagen at the other side keeps the ninth position with 12 games lost. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven's next round opponent will be higher ranked Telekom Baskets (#6) in Bonn and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
