Regular Season Round 32: Poitiers - Orchy 79-81 OT

Bottom-ranked Orchesien BC managed to get a tenth victory. This time newly promoted Orchesien BC edged sixth-ranked Poitiers 81-79. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Poitiers. The guests were ahead by 3 points but lost the second period ending it with a 2-point deficit before their 19-17 run, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 13-11. Orchesien BC players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Austen Rowland (186-81, college: Lehigh, agency: Court Side) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 9 assists and naturalized American Tony Stanley (192-77, college: Dayton) who added 17 points during the contest. American-Dominican swingman Jeff Greer (196-79, college: Rutgers) responded with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Pierre-Yves Guillard (201-84) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds. Five Orchesien BC and four Poitiers players scored in double figures. Orchesien BC (10-22) moved-up to sixteenth place, which they share with St Vallier and Lille. Poitiers at the other side dropped to the seventh position with 15 games lost. They share it with Fos Ouest and Hyeres-Toulon. Orchesien BC will play against higher ranked Nantes (#14) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Poitiers will play against Lille Metropole (#16) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
