The game with biggest result difference took place in Chiajna. Local Concordia (1-20) was outscored by ninth ranked Steaua CSM (11-10) 112-54 on Sunday night. The game without a history. Steaua CSM led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They held Concordia to an opponent 24.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 57.6 percent accuracy of the winners and made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. Steaua CSM forced 22 Concordia turnovers and outrebounded them 41-27 including a 33-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. Steaua CSM looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Concordia's players. Montenegrin guard Miljan Pavkovic (178-81, agency: Beo Basket) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 18 assists for the winners and American forward Robert Nyakundi (203-89, college: SMU) chipped in 24 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Steaua CSM players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was center Ciprian Mihai (203-90) with 11 points and 9 rebounds and forward Bogdan Stancut (198-87) scored 13 points. Concordia's coach Vlastimir Vukadinovic gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Steaua CSM have a solid series of three victories in a row. Newly promoted Steaua CSM maintains ninth place with 11-10 record. Concordia lost fourteenth consecutive game. Concordia at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the thirteenth position with 20 games lost. Steaua CSM will meet bottom-ranked Farul Const. (#14) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Concordia will play against Craiova and hope to win that game.
