Round 21 in Liga Nationala means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Ploiesti where host Ploiesti (16-5) beat league's leader Oradea (16-5) 79-66 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Oradea. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Ploiesti. Oradea managed to win second period 17-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was Finnish-American center Gerald Lee (208-87, college: ODU) who scored 27 points (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field). Ghanian guard Alhaji Mohammed (192-81, college: Louisville) chipped in 19 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Montenegrin guard Vujadin Subotic (198-81, agency: 011 Sports) who recorded 19 points and Serbian forward Zarko Comagic (201-85, college: N.Arizona, agency: 011 Sports) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Ploiesti have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with defeated Oradea. Oradea will play next round against Targu Mures trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Ploiesti will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked CS Energia Rovinari Targu Jiu on the road.
