Very predictable result when leader Talje Knights (8-0) beat at home 7th ranked Brahe Basket (3-6) 86-71 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Talje Knights. Brahe Basket was better in fourth quarter 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Talje Knights had a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Brahe Basket was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Erik Johansson (194-96) fired 23 points for the winners. Martin Hyberg chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). Four Talje Knights players scored in double figures. Talje Knights' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Jamaican center Hugh Robinson (202-83) produced 32 points and 8 rebounds and forward Adrian Thorangen (195-93, college: Cuesta JC) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Talje Knights have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain first place with 8-0 record. Loser Brahe Basket dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. Talje Knights will face Fryshuset (#3) in Stockholm in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Brahe Basket's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Huskvarna Sanda Basket.
