Quarter-Finals Round 1: Umea - Mark Basket 84-51

Umea got to a convincing start of their playoff campaign. They stormed past Mark Basket. The game without a history. Umea led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Mark Basket's 30. Umea forced 26 Mark Basket turnovers and outrebounded them 49-26 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 4 passes made by Mark Basket's players. Worth to mention a great performance of British power forward Chantelle Handy (188-87, college: Marshall) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. American guard Jeannie Saunders (173-86, college: Salem Intern.) contributed with 13 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Umea's coach Mikael Blomqvist felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Taneisha Harrison (182-89, college: Pittsburgh) answered with 16 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import guard Marissa Kastanek (175-90, college: N.Carolina St.) added 19 points in the effort for Mark Basket.
