Quarter-Finals Round 1: Windsor Exp. - Mississauga P. 105-97

The Power took on the Windsor Express in Game 1 of the first round of the playoffs today in Windsor. The Power played a competitive game but could not upset the home team as they lost 97-105. Morgan Lewis continued to be blazing hot for the Power, tallying a near triple double with 35 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. Mark Gomillia added 15 points while Kirk Williams Jr. chipped in with 14. Chris Commons led the Express with 29 points. The Power started strong in the first quarter, playing with high energy and going on an 8-2 run to begin the game. The Express quickly regrouped and came back with a run of their own to tie up the game. The teams would play evenly the rest of the quarter, with the Power taking a two point advantage into the second quarter. In the second, the Express looked like a new team and showed why they were the number one seed heading in to the series. A 16-4 run early in the second propelled the Express to a 31-20 lead in the second. The Express held a 55-44 lead at halftime. It was the Power who looked like the stronger team in the third, as the visitors continued to claw away the Express lead. The Power cut the deficit to within two points before ending the quarter 72-78. In the final quarter of action, the Power carried their third quarter momentum and looked to give the Express trouble. The Power tied up the game off a basket by David Seagers and continued to stay close to the home team. The Power were within three points with three minutes remaining in the game but failed to convert another shot as the Express ran away with the win. The Power will look to bounce back in Game 2 against the Express tomorrow night in Windsor before returning home to the Hershey Centre on March 6th to play Game 3. Courtesy of: oursportscentral.com
