Ottawa advanced into the CIS Championship semis. The game was mostly controlled by Gee-Gees. Huskies was better in second period 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gee-Gees players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Guard Terry Thomas (193) nailed 24 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and guard Johnny Berhanemeskel (185) accounted for 20 points and 7 assists. Four Gee-Gees players scored in double figures. American point guard Stephon Lamar (184, college: Pacific) came up with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists and forward Matthew Forbes (198) added 18 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Huskies in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
