Victoria held off McGill to reach the semifinal stage. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 63-54. Vikies dominated on the defensive end, holding Redmen to just 4 points in third quarter. Vikies had a 33-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. American swingman Terrell Evans (193) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import guard Marcus Tibbs (186) chipped in 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side forward Francois Bourque (198) responded with 14 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Vincent Dufort (196) scored 7 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Redmen's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help.
