Nitra overcame Rieker Komarno in the opener. The game without a history. Nitra led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 20 Rieker KN turnovers. American power forward Gregory Jenkins (206-82, college: Iona) stepped up and scored 20 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and Croatian guard Sven Smajlagic (190-90) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side Serbian guard Krsto Bjelica (192-88) responded with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and American forward Kenny Hall (206-90, college: Tennessee, agency: Three Eye Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. Rieker KN's coach Frantisek Ron rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
