Regular Season Round 25: CFBB - Cognac 55-70

Bottom-ranked CFBB (0-26) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 70-55 loss to fourteenth ranked Cognac BB (10-15) in Paris on Saturday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Cognac BB. CFBB managed to win third quarter 18-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Cognac BB forced 27 CFBB turnovers. Serbian forward Dejan Sencanski (198-84, college: Abil.Christian) stepped up and scored 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and forward Samba Dia (201-84, college: West Plains JC) chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds. At the losing side Stephane Gombauld (202-97) responded with 10 points and 6 rebounds and guard Luc Loubaki (189-97) scored 9 points. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Cognac BB maintains fourteenth place with 10-15 record. CFBB lost their twentieth sixth game in a row. They still close the standings. Cognac BB will meet at home league's leader Monaco in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. CFBB will play against Saint-Brieuc (#16) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
