Semi-Finals Game 1: Pioneros - Fuerza Regia 90-81

Pioneros toppled Fuerza Regia to gain 1-0 lead in the series. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Fuerza Regia won third quarter 22-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Pioneros forced 19 Fuerza Regia turnovers. It was a very good performance for the former international forward Hector Hernandez (206-85, college: Fresno St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. The former international swingman Romel Beck (201-82, college: UNLV, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 16 points and 5 assists for the winners. American John DeGroat (201-85, college: Pittsburgh) answered with 23 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import center Kentrell Gransberry (206-85, college: S.Florida) added 15 points and 10 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) in the effort for Fuerza Regia. Five Pioneros and four Fuerza Regia players scored in double figures.
