Regular Season Round 24: Ammerud Bskt - Tromso 89-72

An interesting game for Ammerud Bskt (13-5) which hosted in Oslo 3rd ranked Tromso (11-8). Second ranked Ammerud Bskt had an easy win 89-72. The game was mostly controlled by Ammerud Bskt. Tromso was better in third quarter 23-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Tromso 43-32 including 32 on the defensive glass. Tromso was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Ronald Timus (196-84, college: Morgan St.) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import guard Mookie Rivelino (193, college: Quincy) who added 23 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) during the contest. Rivelino is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. The best for the losing side was American power forward Mike St.John (203-84, college: La Salle, agency: Global Sports Plaza) with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and Bulgarian guard Kiril Raykov (192-87) scored 16 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ammerud Bskt have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 13-5 record having just two points less than leader Gimle BBK. Tromso lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Froya Basket. Ammerud Bskt will play against Froya Basket (#5) in Laksevag in the next round. Tromso will play on the road against Sverresborg in Trondheim and hopes to get back on the winning track.
