KAOD (11-10) survived in overtime against PAOK (13-8) by five points 90-85 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of PAOK. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But PAOK won third quarter 23-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where PAOK used huge pressure winning it 16-13 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 11-16. PAOK was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American point guard J'Covan Brown (185-90, college: Texas) who scored 24 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Serbian power forward Nikola Markovic (208-89) chipped in 4 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard D.J. Cooper (183-90, college: Ohio, agency: N.E.T.) who recorded 8 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and the other American import Mark Payne (202-88, college: Cal-Davis) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. PAOK's coach Soulis Markopoulos rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. KAOD have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain sixth place with 11-10 record. PAOK at the other side keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. KAOD will face AGOR (#10) in Rethymno in the next round. PAOK will play at home against Nea Kifisia (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
