No shocking result in a game when first ranked Elitzur Ramla (19-2) beat on the road 5th ranked Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion (7-14) 70-56 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 70-56. Elitzur Ramla dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion's 30. They outrebounded Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion 40-29 including 26 on the defensive glass. Elitzur Ramla looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American swingman Tamara James (178-84, college: Miami, FL) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Jamaican power forward Vanessa Gidden (192-85, college: Hofstra) contributed with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American forward Amanda Thompson (183-87, college: Oklahoma) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds (was perfect 12-for-12 from the free throw line !!!) and the other American import point guard Alexis Gray-Lawson (173-87, college: California) added 16 points in the effort for Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion. Elitzur Ramla have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 19-2 record. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion at the other side keeps the fifth position with 14 games lost.
