Quarter-Finals Round 1: Svendborg - Horsholm 84-67

Svendborg cruised past Horsholm in the opening game of the quarterfinal series. The game was mostly controlled by Svendborg. Horsholm was better in fourth quarter 25-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Horsholm 118-88 including a 44-31 advantage in offensive rebounds. Svendborg looked well-organized offensively handing out 36 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Svendborg made 8 blocks. The game was dominated by American players. Center William Paul (208-88, college: Arkansas Tech) fired 23 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. point guard Johnell Smith (180-80, college: New Orleans) chipped in 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Svendborg players scored in double figures. Guard Brenton Butler (188-87, college: Fordham) produced 18 points and forward Demetrius Phillips (207-87, college: Bridgeport) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
