Fifth-ranked DSK Karlin (5-25) used its home court advantage to challenge fourth ranked Lokomotiva Karlovy Vary (11-19) in Nymburk on Saturday. The visitors from Karlovy Vary managed to secure only three-point victory 65-62. However their fans expected easier game. The guests trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 16-15 charge, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time and get a 3-point victory in overtime. Lokomotiva Karlovy Vary forced 24 DSK Karlin turnovers. Strangely DSK Karlin outrebounded Lokomotiva Karlovy Vary 116-99 including 43 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for Sarka Kucerova (181-82) who led her team to a victory with 17 points and 8 rebounds. Bosnian guard Matea Tavic (178-92) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Lokomotiva Karlovy Vary players scored in double figures. Guard Alena Hunkova (174-87) answered with 20 points and power forward Iva Peklova (193-86) added 11 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for DSK Karlin. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Lokomotiva Karlovy Vary maintains fourth place in A2 with 11-19 record. DSK Karlin lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with 25 games lost. Lokomotiva Karlovy Vary will face league's leader Kara Trutnov at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. DSK Karlin will play against SSMH Brno (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
