Not a big story in a game when 16th ranked VL Pesaro (6-18) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Lottomatica Roma (15-9) 96-85 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Lottomatica Roma. VL Pesaro was better in second period 24-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lottomatica Roma looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Bobby Jones (201-84, college: Washington) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 7 rebounds and swingman Quinton Hosley (201-84, college: Fresno St.) who added 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Four Lottomatica Roma players scored in double figures. Lottomatica Roma's coach Luca Dalmonte used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was guard Elston Turner (196-90, college: Texas A&M) with 37 points (!!!) and 4 assists and guard Ravern Johnson (200-88, college: Mississippi St.) scored 19 points. Lottomatica Roma moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Banco di Srd. Loser VL Pesaro stay at the bottom position with 18 games lost. Lottomatica Roma will face higher ranked Montepaschi Siena (#3) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. VL Pesaro will play against the league's leader Armani Milano (#1) and hope to win that game.
