Finals Game 1: Halc.Rojos - Pioneros 85-65

Halcones Rojos got to a confident start of their LNBP Finals campaign. They rallied past Pioneros in the opener. The game was mostly controlled by Halcones Rojos. Pioneros managed to win third quarter 23-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Halcones Rojos shot 60.7 percent from the field. Worth to mention a great performance of Puerto Rican point guard Carlos Rivera (187-83, college: Hofstra, agency: Paris Global Sports) who helped to win the game recording 11 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. American guard LeRoy Hickerson (196-82, college: Cumberlands) contributed with 10 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Five Halcones Rojos players scored in double figures. Panamanian power forward Jose Lloreda (203-80, college: LSU, agency: Paris Global Sports) answered with 17 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and American-Puerto Rican point guard Denis Clemente (183-86, college: Kansas St.) added 10 points in the effort for Pioneros. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
