There was a minor upset in Malaga where 7th ranked Cocinas.com (12-13) was defeated by ninth ranked Clinicas Rincon (11-14) 82-74 on Friday. Cocinas.com was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. They outrebounded Cocinas.com 43-31 including 18 on the offensive glass. Clinicas Rincon looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Ricardo Guillen (205-76, agency: Duran International) who scored 24 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Naturalized Lithuanian forward Tautvydas Sabonis (203-92) chipped in 7 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Croatian forward Ante Gospic (203-90, college: Flagler, agency: Duran International) who recorded 19 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Mikel Uriz (182-89) added 17 points and 6 assists respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Clinicas Rincon maintains ninth position with 11-14 record, which they share with Forca Lleida. Cocinas.com at the other side keeps the seventh place with 13 games lost. Clinicas Rincon will face again higher ranked Cocinas.com (#8) in Logrono in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
