Regular Season Round 29: I.T.U. - Darussafaka 75-95

TB2L top team - Darussafaka (24-5) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed tenth ranked ITU Istanbul (13-15) 95-75. The game was mostly controlled by Darussafaka. ITU Istanbul was better in third quarter 23-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American power forward Lawrence Roberts (206-82, college: Mississippi St.) nailed a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds for the winning side and his fellow American import guard Quincy Douby (190-84, college: Rutgers) accounted for 20 points. American power forward Corsley Edwards (205-79, college: Cent.Conn.St.) came up with 23 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Rahim Rizvanoglu (183-86) added 10 points and 7 assists respectively for ITU Istanbul in the defeat. Five Darussafaka and four ITU Istanbul players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Darussafaka. They maintain first place with 24-5 record. Newly promoted ITU Istanbul keeps the tenth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Final Genclik. Darussafaka will play against Vestel (#5) in Manisa in the next round. ITU Istanbul will play on the road against Bandirma Kir. (#17) in Balikesir and hopes to get back on the winning track.
