Lucca toppled Venezia for 1-0 lead in the series. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Venezia won third quarter 18-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lucca forced 21 Venezia turnovers and had a 27-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Megan Mahoney (183-83, college: Kansas St., agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds. Dutch power forward Naomi Halman (191-86, college: Cal-Irvine) contributed with 10 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American guard Shannon McCallum (177-87, college: Charlotte) answered with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and guard Francesca Melchiori (175-93) added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Venezia.
