Date: March 30, 2014
No shocking result in a game in Sassari where sixth ranked Banco di Srd (16-9) smashed 15th ranked Sutor Montegranaro (7-18) 98-75. The game was mostly controlled by Banco di Srd. Sutor Montegranaro was better in second period 28-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Banco di Srd shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Naturalized American guard Drake Diener (196-81, college: De Paul, agency: Priority Sports) nailed 21 points for the winning side and American-FYR Macedonian point guard Marques Green (165-82, college: St.Bonaventure) accounted for 11 points, 8 assists and 5 steals. Four Banco di Srd players scored in double figures. Forward Luca Campani (208-90) came up with 18 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) and the former international power forward Valerio Mazzola (205-88) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Sutor Montegranaro in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Banco di Srd moved-up to fifth place. Sutor Montegranaro lost their third game in a row. They keep the fifteenth position with 18 games lost. Banco di Srd's next round opponent will be higher ranked Montepaschi Siena (#3) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sutor Montegranaro will play against Enel Brindisi (#4) and hope to win that game.
