Semi-Finals Game 5: Northland - Sallen 87-68

Northland outgunned Salen in the decisive fifth game of the semifinal series and set up the clash versus Norrkoping for the title. The game without a history. Northland led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Northland outrebounded Sallen 40-29 including 25 on the defensive glass. American guard Brittany Smart (175-85, college: Cedarville) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 9 rebounds. Slovenian center Tina Trebec (190-90, agency: Kotnik Sports Agency) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Five Northland players scored in double figures. The former international center Katarina Andersson (191-83) answered with 15 points and 9 rebounds and American swingman Christy Bacon (182-80, college: Wyoming) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Sallen. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
