The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Agrigento (21-6) on the court of fifth ranked Omegna on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Omegna 82-67. It ended at the same time the 14-game winning streak of Agrigento. The game was mostly controlled by Omegna. Agrigento managed to win third quarter 18-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Mike James (185-90, college: Lamar) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists and Canadian-Jamaican swingman Jevohn Shepherd (196-86, college: Michigan, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) who added 20 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals during the contest. Four Omegna players scored in double figures. At the losing side naturalized Argentinian forward Albano Chiarastella (196-85) responded with 12 points and 6 rebounds and guard Vincenzo Di Viccaro (191-84) scored 13 points. Omegna (16-11) moved-up to third place. Agrigento at the other side still keeps top position with six games lost. Omegna are looking forward to face Casalpusterlengo (#5) on the road in the next round. Agrigento will play against Matera (#4) and is hoping to win this game.
