Gorizont cruised past Sozh Gomel in the semifinal series opener. The game without a history. Gorizont led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Sozh Gomel to just 7 points in second quarter. Gorizont dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Sozh Gomel's 18. Gorizont forced 29 Sozh Gomel turnovers and outrebounded them 51-33 including a 22-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 4 passes made by Sozh Gomel's players. Russian-Ukrainian center Aleksandra Khomenchuk (202-89) nailed a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side and international guard Natalia Anufryienka (174-85) accounted for 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Gorizont's coach Anatoly Buyalskiy felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
