We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when second ranked Team Crema (5-3) beat on the road top-ranked Brindisi (5-3) 67-63 on Sunday. It was a key game for the top position in Relegation Group B. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Team Crema forced 24 Brindisi turnovers. Guard Norma Rizzi (170-93) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points and 5 rebounds. Power forward Gilda Cerri (185-90) contributed with 11 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Team Crema players scored in double figures. Forward Marzia Tagliamento (179-96) replied with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and power forward Luigia Boccadamo (175-94) added 18 points in the effort for Brindisi. Team Crema keeps a position of Relegation Group B leader, which they share with Ferrara and Brindisi. Team Crema will face Viterbo (#6) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Brindisi will play against Ferrara (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
