Vivo/Franca surged ahead in the series upsetting Uberlandia on the road. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 23-12. But Unitri won second period 21-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Vivo/Franca forced 20 Unitri turnovers and outrebounded them 38-26 including 28 on the defensive glass. The former international center Paulo Prestes (210-88) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and Argentinian point guard Juan Pablo Figueroa (184-86, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 12 points and 5 assists. Four Vivo/Franca players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international point guard Valtinho Silva (187-77) responded with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and American Robert Day (197-82, college: W.Oregon) scored 7 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists.
