We should mention about the upset which took place in Barcelos, where 6th ranked Lusitania (9-10) lost to ninth ranked Barcelos (8-11) in a road game 73-86. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Lusitania. The game was mostly controlled by Barcelos. Lusitania was better in fourth quarter 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Guard Rui Coelho (191-89) nailed 18 points and 4 assists for the winning side and the former international point guard Nuno Oliveira (186-89) accounted for 16 points and 4 assists. American center Marcel Momplaisir (205-81, college: Rhode Island, agency: Dynamics Global Management) came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 18 rebounds and the other American import point guard Jaime Smith (191-89, college: Al.-Huntsville) added 22 points respectively for Lusitania in the defeat. Barcelos moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Ovarense. Lusitania at the other side keeps the sixth position with ten games lost. Barcelos' next round opponent will be league's second-placed Vitoria SC in Guimaraes and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
