The most interesting game of round 3 was a home defeat of Kvarner (1-2) to Cedevita (2-1) 68-62. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 68-62. Cedevita forced 21 Kvarner turnovers. It was a great evening for American point guard Nolan Smith (187-88, college: Duke) who led his team to a victory scoring 14 points and 5 rebounds. Bosnian-Slovenian center Jusuf Nurkic (213-94) helped adding 10 points and 7 rebounds. Four Cedevita players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was center Marijan Cakarun (201-90) with 18 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and forward Henrik Sirko (201-93, agency: XL Basketball Agency) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Kvarner's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Cedevita's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Zagreb Cibona.
