There was no surprise when 6th ranked Energa Czarni (12-15) was crushed on the road by third ranked Trefl Sopot (19-8) 83-62. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Trefl Sopot's pressure prevailed and they won that period 29-11 extending their advantage to 21 points. Trefl Sopot outrebounded Energa Czarni 38-26 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Energa Czarni's players. 26 personal fouls committed by Energa Czarni helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. International swingman Adam Waczynski (199-89) nailed 22 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and the former international Pawel Leonczyk (202-86) accounted for 11 points and 9 rebounds. American Roderick Trice (190-84, college: S.Carolina) came up with 16 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import point guard Derrick Zimmerman (187-81, college: Mississippi St.) added 9 points respectively for Energa Czarni in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Trefl Sopot maintains third place in Places 1-6 with 19-8 record having just -3 point less than leader Slask Wroclaw. Energa Czarni lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 15 games lost. Trefl Sopot's next round opponent will be again Energa Czarni (#6) in Slupsk.
