Semi-Finals Game 3: Grindavik - Njardvik 89-73

Grindavik earned the second straight victory over Njardvik to surge ahead in the semifinal series. The game without a history. Grindavik led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Grindavik brought some defensive toughness making 10 blocks. It was a great evening for the former international center Sigurdur Thorsteinsson (204-88) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists. American-Dominican guard Lewis Clinch (191-87, college: Georgia Tech, agency: KMG Sports Management) helped adding 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was international point guard Elvar Fridriksson (180-94) with 22 points and 8 assists and American forward Tracy Smith (203-89, college: N.Carolina St.) scored 9 points and 13 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.
