AE Ellinikou became the first A1 finalists after they outgunned Athinaikos at home court. AE Ellinikou held a 2-0 lead over their opponents (taking into account regular season games) and completed the sweep with the victory in the series opener. Athinaikos was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 39-27 second half run of AE Ellinikou. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Lykendra Johnson (185-89, college: Michigan St.) who helped to win the game recording 16 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. The former international forward Anna Spyridopoulou (184-88) contributed with 13 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four AE Ellinikou players scored in double figures. AE Ellinikou's coach Eleni Kapogianni allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The former international power forward Peli Papamichail (189-86, agency: Josep and Nicolas) answered with 14 points and 9 rebounds and Latvian center Zenta Melnika (197-91) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Athinaikos.
