Seventeenth ranked Montbrison won a double-overtime thriller against 16th ranked Saint-Brieuc by four points 95-91 on Saturday night. The game took place in Saint-Brieuc. But the guests from Montbrison were better at the end. Saint-Brieuc was tied after three quarters and then recorded another tie at the end of regular time. They were eventually defeated in double-overtime 7-7s. Montbrison dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Saint-Brieuc's 30. Montbrison forced 22 Saint-Brieuc turnovers. Saint-Brieuc was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Regis Aubry (199-82) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. American Keonta Howell (193-85, college: Toledo) chipped in 22 points and 5 steals. Norwegian-American guard Terrence Oglesby (188-88, college: Clemson) produced 22 points and forward Jimmy Lupot (190-83) added 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Five Montbrison and four Saint-Brieuc players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Montbrison maintains seventeenth place with 7-24 record. Saint-Brieuc at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the sixteenth position with 21 games lost. Montbrison will face higher ranked Lourdes-Tarbes (#11) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
