Regular Season Round 29: Walter Tigers - Art.Dragons 104-64

An interesting game took place in Tuebingen, where higher ranked Artland Dragons (18-11) were outleveled in a road game by seventeenth ranked Walter Tigers (7-22) 104-64 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Artland Dragons. The game was mostly controlled by Walter Tigers. Artland Dragons was better in second period 20-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Artland Dragons 35-21 including 27 on the defensive glass. Walter Tigers looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was forward Tyrone Nash (203-88, college: Notre Dame) who scored 22 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Guard Daequan Cook (196-87, college: Ohio St.) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. Four Walter Tigers players scored in double figures. Guard Antonio Graves (191-85, college: Pittsburgh, agency: Two Points) produced 18 points and forward Lawrence Hill (203-87, college: Stanford) added 11 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Walter Tigers maintains seventeenth place with 7-22 record. Loser Artland Dragons keep the fifth position with 11 games lost. Walter Tigers will face bottom-ranked SC Rasta Vechta (#18) on the road in the next round. Artland Dragons will play against BBC Bayreuth (#15) and hope to win that game.
