Semi-Finals Game 3: Rivas Ecopolis - Gran Canaria 72-52

Rivas Ecopolis fired past Gran Canaria to secure the championship series ticket. The game was mostly controlled by Rivas Ecopolis. Gran Canaria managed to win fourth quarter 23-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Gran Canaria to just 6 points in third quarter. Rivas Ecopolis forced 19 Gran Canaria turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Rivas Ecopolis made 7 blocks. It was a good game for American Rachel Allison (185-87, college: Baylor) who led her team to a victory with 15 points. Guard Gabriela Ocete (170-88) contributed with 13 points for the winners. Naturalized Senegalese center Astou Ndour (198-94) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and American guard Brittany Chambers (173-91, college: Kansas St.) added 12 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Gran Canaria. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
