Vigarano held off Catania to open win count in the semifinal series. The game was mostly controlled by Vigarano. Catania managed to win third quarter 21-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Catania to just 5 points in fourth quarter. Vigarano had a 30-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. The former international guard Valeria Zanoli (170-84) nailed 12 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists for the winning side and forward Eleonora Costi (180-83) accounted for 17 points and 9 rebounds. Five Vigarano players scored in double figures. Czech center Renata Brezinova (190-90) came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and Cuban forward Tania Seino (186-73) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Catania in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
