Regular Season Round 29: Brose Bask. - B.Muenchen 75-76

The biggest surprise of round 29 took place in Bambergguest Bayern Muenchen (#1) barely escaped a defeat edging second-ranked Brose Baskets by 1 point 76-75 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Brose Baskets. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The guests trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 42-35 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Bayern Muenchen made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American center John Bryant (208-87, college: Santa Clara) who scored 12 points and 5 assists. His fellow American import Bryce Taylor (193-86) chipped in 15 points. Trinidad and Tobago-American center D'or Fischer (211-81, college: W.Virginia) produced 13 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Rakim Sanders (193-89, college: Fairfield) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four Brose Baskets players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Bayern Muenchen have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 25-4 record. Defending champion Brose Baskets keep the second position with five games lost. Bayern Muenchen are looking forward to face Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (#13) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Brose Baskets will play against TBB Trier (#11) and are hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
