Maziekiai have clinched the NKL title. They overcame Trakai in a dramatic overtime championship clash today. Trakai was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 7-point lead after three quarters before a 25-18 charge of Mazeikiai, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 11-5. Mazeikiai dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Trakai's 24. Mazeikiai forced 20 Trakai turnovers. Trakai was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Mindaugas Reminas (186-86) fired 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Forward Darius Tarvydas (199-91) chipped in 21 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Julius Kazakauskas (197-90) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 19 rebounds and point guard Simonas Lekys (180-93) added 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side.
