Mogi das Cruzes cut the deficit in the eighth-final series versus Pinheiros/Sky. Pinheiros was ahead by 4 points after three quarters before a 31-23 charge of Mogi, which allowed them to win the game. They made 16-of-17 charity shots (94.1 percent) during the game. Mogi forced 19 Pinheiros turnovers and outrebounded them 37-26 including 23 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for Guilherme Filipin (191-83) who led his team to a victory with 15 points and 6 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Center Daniel Castellar (202-83) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Four Mogi players scored in double figures. Mogi's coach Francisco Garcia allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Naturalized American Shamell Stallworth (195-80, college: USF, agency: Interperformances) answered with 32 points and 4 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and American point guard Joe Smith (192-77, college: Al.-Huntsville) added 11 points and 10 assists in the effort for Pinheiros.
